Most Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most frequently asked questions, or questions related to the page you just left:

The navigation links on your page may not work for certain reasons:

  • If you are using SSNB to display the navigation code, please keep in mind that the 'next' and 'prev' links will only bring you to the next and previous sites in the Community if you are active (not pending or suspended) in the Community. In cases where your membership is pending or suspended, the 'next' and 'prev' links will direct you to the hub page for that Community. This is to ensure that sites not listed on the hub page (most likely because they do not contain navigation coding or the site's content has not been approved for the Community's focus) are not accidentally visited. If the links still do not work as you believe they should, contact Support and clearly indicate what exactly doesn't seem to be working.
  • If you are using HTML rather than the SSNB then the reasons can vary:
    • Your site may not be active. Check your status.
    • Your HTML may be faulty. Check this one very carefully. Check that your site ID is valid in all the links (the id=# part of the coding), that the ring ID is valid in all links (ring= part of the coding). Check to see if any links work. If some links work and some don't note which ones before contacting Support.
    • The Community may no longer exist, or your site may have been deleted or denied from the Community. Again, check all this before panicking or contacting Support. Include this information in your support request.

The navigation links aren't working on a site I visited

Unfortunately, that happens. Sometimes it might be a temporary problem, but if it happens more than one time, try again later. If it still fails, then:

  • If you can, contact the website owner. It's their code after all.
  • Try contacting the manager of the Community if you can't contact the website owner.

The management of WebRing Communities is generally left to the manager, except in cases of neglect or malicious management. Contacting Support except in these situations is not likely to result in fixing the problem. Contacting the Community manager is the best option.
